In the age of 4K and HD video recording, it is quite refreshing to see a music video made with an authentic Panasonic VHS camera. Rising videographer, TrapStelo, has given us just that and takes it a step further by blending his own VHS footage with classic Scarface scenes to make an iconic 80’s dreamlike sequence for “Tony”. The artist behind the distorted vocals is none other than producer/singer, ♡NANCY♡, who has been a presence on the Chicago scene for years having produced for staple acts such as Warhol.ss and Decent Militia. However, this is the year that ♡NANCY♡ has decided to venture beyond the boards and enter front stage, which after seeing this video, seems like he was destined to do all along. The eerie lo-fi production is courtesy of frequent collaborator, Tombo, who also executive produces for Family Reunion– with additional drums provided by Vela Seff. ♡NANCY♡ is just getting warmed up with this release considering he has a solo EP and several collaborative projects on the way later this year, so expect tons of new material soon but until then you can keep “Tony” on replay by hitting play above!
