Although it has been noted many times, Afeni Shakur has finally made it somewhat public about extending 2Pac’s legendary position — with the help of Jeff Jampol and Tom Whalley who signed ‘Pac to Interscope.
The first piece of work the company scraped together was the Derrick Rose POWERADE commercial, featuring Shakur’s vocals from his poem “Mama’s Just a Little Girl.” With the 20th anniversary of his death nearing, we’ll probably be seeing a lot more of Tupac in the public eye.
“Some of [the material] is in bits and pieces, some of it is complete; some of it is good, some of it needs work,” says Whalley, who has explored much of the archive. “But I think the work that is left can be completed, and is worth his fans hearing.”
