For the last few weeks, I’ve been impatiently waiting for West Philly rappers Hoodfamousj and Zy Benji to drop “Starters Dead”. I was almost expecting them not to drop it since the release got delayed because apparently Zy only raps on Sundays. J also has a tendency to promote snippets for weeks and then not drop so I almost lost hope.
Luckily, the track dropped last night and I can confidently say that neither rapper left me disappointed. In a basketball-themed video directed by 1Mirs, Benji’s laid-back shit-talking and Hoodfamousj‘s in-your-face delivery and clever one-liners contrast against each other perfectly. So far, the song has racked up nearly 4,000 views in under a day at the time of this write-up. Check out the track below!
