This rising Jersey-native delivers what essentially is a short film to accompany the climactic tale that his new single, “Gang Activity.” The title being “Gang Activity” may give listeners some insight beforehand on what the song may entail. But after playing the video and hearing the song for the first time, this isn’t just a tale of crime; it’s a sneak peek at how complex staying levelheaded has been for Chris Patrick.
Throughout the beginning of the video we see Chris and his friends hooping, smoking, chilling on the porch, nothing any of us haven’t done. But while the visuals show Chris and his friends enjoying themselves, we hear him still focusing on other facets of life. He references all the instances he and his friends have yet to move on from and feeling like they aren’t exactly “God’s favorites” because of the hard times they’ve endured in Jersey. As a result, Chris feels like he and his friends are all each other have, and they’d rather risk it all together than fall apart one by one. In its essence, “Gang Activity” is a story of loyalty, loss, paranoia, and triumph, all directed by JustinLA. Not regretting a thing, Chris is proud of all he and his friends have had to do to get as far as they have; right or wrong the gang has always had each others’ backs.
