It appears Kendrick Lamar is aiming even higher for this forthcoming album, trying to achieve platinum in the first week. A tweet from the TDE CEO himself, Anthony Tiffith, said:
“1 week 1 million is the goal….#TDE.”
This is a very ambitious, considering that the last time someone from the rap industry achieved that sorta of success was back in 2008, when Wayne released Tha Carter III.
Kendrick said in a recent interview with HOT 97 that he’s going with more real instruments as opposed to computer generated beats, MPC’s, etc. on his album, which is extremely refreshing within today’s music scene –something Chance the Rapper has been credit for as well. K.Dot’s forthcoming LP is currently unnamed and doesn’t have a release date, but we’ll keep you posted.
