We’ve seen the pioneer producers of Soundcloud such as Pi’erre Bourne, TM88, Ginseng, and Brent Rambo to name a few, cement themselves a spot in the underground Hall of Fame due to their impact and inventions. A producer that has always stuck with me is one by the name of Polo Boy Shawty hailing from Peoria, Illinois. Polo Boy Shawty is responsible for the sounds you hear today, having placements that have been heard by many including but not limited to Trill Sammy, Kap G, Playboi Carti, and Kodak Black.
Speaking of Polo Boy Shawty, he most recently released a 14-track project titled Connected, featuring notable names such as Atl Smook, Tony Shhnow, and Lil Xelly to name a few. Knowing that Polo Boy Shawty is still on his grind and releasing elite music many years later when I discovered him is truly a blessing and nostalgic. With this project, you can expect the similar pluggnb sound that you heard in 2017, with emphasis on the track Roll The Dice. Although this project has no skips, Plain Jane and Bentley Truck are my ultimate favorites.
The past consists of many artists I’ve heard that have come and gone with ease but Polo Boy Shawty will always have a special place in my heart, composing memorable tracks that have paved the way for artists today. I definitely recommend this project to anyone looking to take a trip down memory lane and smoke and chill as well.
