Daily Chiefers is proud to present Sob Dylan’s first single, “small coffins for troubled teens.”This track is brought to you by Goth Fieri. Both artists are apart of the collective known as Lowkey Radical. Sob Dylan asked me to keep his true identity anonymous, but what I can tell you is that he operates out of Brooklyn. This song is in his own words, “about being scare and anxious, and doing drugs to cope with being scared and anxious.” I’ll say. This song is about as underground as it gets, folks. I personally have never heard anything quite like this. I’ve been into trap, hip-hop, etc for quite some time now, and I shit you not, I have never heard a track that I felt legitimately emotionally connected to.
Sob Dylan talks a lot of his struggles, and coping with his struggles with drugs. The chorus for this song is where I really just thought, “Shit. This is real.” He uses vocal distortion in such a brilliant way. The deep, dare I say demonic tones to his voice really make you feel his pain. Even stepping away from the technical side of the music, the guy has bars for DAYS. The flow in this track seriously reminds me of Earl Sweatshirt.
Goth Fieri murdered the beat. Seriously, he murdered it. This beat is so simple, yet so abstract. It reminds me a lot of instrumentals from Sylvan Esso, an electric indie pop band from North Carolina. The beat is druggy, yet somehow innocent. It’s really crazy how perfectly tailored this beat was for Sob Dylan.
After hearing this, you’ll probably be wondering, “Where can I find more?” Well, Sob Dylan will be releasing a new track every month. It’s refreshing to see someone not taking 8 months to put out a new track. Listen y’all, this artist is going to pave the way for emotional trap. There isn’t a lot of it out there, and this is just the first of many more we’ll get to hear from Sob Dylan. Without further adieu, I present to you, small coffins for troubled teens!
