Richrick Returns With His Emphatically Futuristic Project “Registered”

Rick is one of Philly’s most overlooked artists and he continues to plead his case every time he drops. This go-round it’s consisting of 11 cuts all residing in the realm of hypnotic, intoxicating sounds. There are three features on here that have been in the vault and now seems like the perfect time to unleash the wave. Yeat, Yola Mane, Destroy Lonely and T$an is a wondrous grouping of features to put atop any album, but for an up and comer like Rick, this sweetens the pot a bit for a new listener.

This young man holds his own and truly impresses up and down this project. My personal favorites are “No One”, “Hobby” and “Follow Back”, but there isn’t a song that lags behind the rest. An incredible fusion of simplistic rhyme patterns, but atop modern instrumentation makes for a cohesive project that doesn’t reach too desperately. A good basis of the younger generation of artists wants to run after what is currently popping and Rick has been creating his own lane for years.
