I encountered a phenomenon unlike any other this past week. The Saks in Cincinnati is closing so they’re having an everything must go sale. Let me tell you, seratonin has not flooded my brain like that since the early 2000’s. Though, what I saw is something that I already knew, these clothing brands are just that, brands. The people don’t think the designs are hardly groundbreaking, it’s really just about the recognition of the characteristics. Rick drawstrings, Stone Island Patches, Balenciaga ugliness, they all make people lose their shit, but to get these pieces of clothing to those who’d never be able to afford them again is hilarious. I hope everyone in the city had a chance to go cop at least a little something because it really raised morale.
Bert Knox Featuring Glenworldtour – Today
Bert has been on our page a few times already, but this might be the personal favorite thus far. Linking with Glenworldtour for these simple, yet clean visuals for “Today” is a great example of how the world needs to catch up to these guys. The colors meld, yet clash wondrously in these frames, but without the main characters, these shots would be a blank canvas. This is a quality cut from a pair of rising creatives, worth watching, peep it all above.
We appreciate this new wave of percussion or recycled garage sound that has come back into the frame. The percussive elements fused with the light synths here create great energy from start to finish. With Rilla Force, Latrell James, Haasan Barclay, and Rothstein all shining on this one, it shouldn’t phase you to dive right in. From start to finish the talents keep stacking, so have fun with this one above.
Kakuyon is a shining soul with plenty of skills in his music. “Tomorrow” speeds things up a bit from the last drop, but still possesses an otherworldly, atmospheric touch to escape with. This is a great cut for the world to delve into during the fall, as the environment changes around. Great music forces you to think and feel and this young man does both time and time again. Do yourself a favor and get acquainted with Kakuyon above.
Syris – Screaming 4 u (okayjml)
This is the future of music and whether you agree with that or not, it’s really not up to you or me. It’s up to the youth and you can tell this kid has a lot on his mind. “screaming 4 u” is already an incredibly vivid depiction of what the subject matter might entail, but Syris leaves it all on the line. This technicolor approach to music is not only entertaining but enlightening to the listener. It opens our eyes and ears, so do the same for the cut above.
Another day, another blurb saying that Church is a star and nothing less. This go-round he links with prodxoasis for the soon-to-be smash “Proud” and let me tell you, Church‘s pen is lethal as ever. The melodies are infectious, and the feeling of this one exudes countless characteristics of a real pop sensation. “Proud” is a hit, don’t be late.
Heath240 – Trippin
Heath240 has budded into a star right before our eyes and with the final installment in his newest trilogy, Heath showcases the video for “Trippin”. One of the few rising artists in the game who not only intrigue but captivate with their sounds and visuals. Heath is the truth and isn’t close to being finished.
JayBenz And Austin Kenyon – Damaged
JayBenz and Austin Kenyon link up for the fusion of drill and soft acoustic guitars called “damaged”. This cut showcases this rising duo dealing with heartbreak along the way and it shines brightly in a world of repetitive hullaballoo. Austin has been on our pages one time prior to this, but it’s seeming like this will turn into a regular ordeal. The electricity pumped through this one will make you feel passion and pain, but realize it’s only temporary. Peep this one above.
Taz Money – Heaven Or Hell
Taz Money rounds things out on this one in a wild way with the visuals for “Heaven Or Hell”. A sample drill infused cut about the ups and downs of a relationship from his side. Taz will continue to flourish into a better artist with every release and it’s really only a matter of time until the world is hip as well. Do yourself a favor and take a dive into the gas that’s above.
