Uh oh, not a good look for the good folks over at Soundcloud. While most of you have noticed ads while playing your music, it apparently hasn’t brought enough revenue to satisfy the bigger labels. After rumors started swirling yesterday, Sony went the extra mile today by removing ALL the songs from their artist roster.

What Sony has said it has been due to a “a lack of monetization opportunities” — with Miguel, Adele, Passion Pit, Hozier, and MS MR all not included on Soundcloud. The two sides have tried to settle their differences, but it doesn’t seem likely as of right now…

“We are in ongoing conversations with major and independent labels and will continue to add partners to the program. We’ve always put control in the hands of creators, and anyone who makes music and audio can decide when and how they want to share it with fans, allowing artists to essentially broadcast out to the world the availability of new content.”

Soundcloud claims to have thrown out $2 million in advertising revenue at Sony, but that doesn’t seem to be enough for these money hungry executives.
