Last night, if you weren’t aware, or just aren’t into Award Shows like me, the 57th Annual Grammy’s aired, and boy was it a sight to see. Along with red carpet fashion, Taylor Swift winning a bunch of stuff, the only thing that really seemed to matter was Cornrow Kenny winning 8 out of 11 Grammy’s, and his game-changing, chilling performance.
Many people still to this day don’t appreciate the artistry and jazz influenced style on his recent To Pimp A Butterfly album, but his performance most definitely made that possible. He took two of his standout tracks “Blacker The Berry” and “Alright” and literally turned them into broadway performances before our very eyes. Groundbreaking.
From entering the stage with chains, to having tribal dancers support him and much more, he brought history of 400 some odd across the Grammy stage and created memories for years to come. Please if you haven’t already watch his performance above, prepare to be amazed.
