OVO Sound’s own ILOVEMAKONNEN first made his wave onto the scene with his buzzin’ single, “Tuesday,” which was eventually remixed by the man himself, Drake.
Now, with his Drink More Water 6 album still making waves around the net, it looks like the two sides are ready to move on from the situation. Fans originally noticed his Drink More Water 6 album was released through Warner Bros., which obviously sparked rumors throughout the Industry.
A few hours ago, Makonnen actually revealed to Complex that he has officially parted ways with the rising label, thanking Drake and friends in the process. Here’s what he had to say about the move:
“I cannot thank OVO, 40, Oliver, Future & Mr. Morgan, enough for all that they have done for my career. No words can express how much I appreciate Drake for being a part of the success of Tuesday. I’m sure the haters will have something negative to say, but all in all my choice to be solely on Warner Bros Records was the right thing for me and for my best interest. Sorry there’s no beef to report, DRINK MORE WATER.”
