Though Lupe Fiasco’s DROGAS and DROGAS Light have no concrete release date, there’s a possibility that the 2 of his 3 albums coming out this year could be released on any day henceforth in 2016. As preparation, Lupe has posted what one could call ‘insights’ as to what these projects may speak on.
Conversations 1 and Conversations 2 were organic roundtable dialogue between himself and a few friends, discussing certain topics such as: progression by way of proactive parenting, youth being exposed to sensitive material through media at a tender age, and certain artists being knowingly compliant in creating a product that could slowly be destructive to kids/teens.
In “Meditations” Lu talks about ways mythology is used to create new narratives. Hinting that DROGAS, may be him using mythology to recreate his own history of the diaspora within a modern context looking backwards towards history. Listen to it below and enjoy!
