Every once in a while a standout track slips beyond our hazy view of the hip-hop landscape and we have to backtrack to make sure you are aware of its existence. Most recently that manifested as Mello Music Group’s Apollo Brown letting go of the first collaborative single “One In The Same” with DC favorite Skyzoo for the upcoming album The Easy Truth. While Brown has solidified his spot in the top producers category continuously in recent memory, his clever loops and deep digs can still impress when he elevates for an emcee the calibre of Sky. The lazy snare and smooth piano rolls lay the groundwork for syllable juggling and a well placed feature from vocalist Patty Crash, and signals that the September 30th release of this project will only stack with the planned features from Joell Ortiz, Stalley and more.
