As a fan of drugged out music, I have to say that Loco Los pulls off the trip hip-hop sound much more skillfully than a lot of people do. Today, he brings us “Drugs Talking.” I take a lot of things into consideration when doing a premiere. The artwork: does it match the song? The title: is it intriguing? The song itself: is there that special something that makes it better than other songs of the same genre? I answered yes to all of these questions. The cover artwork is creepy as hell. Straight up. It reminds me of those folks in Florida who were taking bath salts and eating people’s faces. The title, “Drugs Talking,” eludes to an idea that he said something that he didn’t mean, or that he said something he did mean but wasn’t supposed to say, which sort of creates a mystery behind the song before we even hear it. Lastly, the song itself was high energy, but didn’t lose the druggy aesthetic. It started out with the ominous piano, but then “Drugs Talking” turns into a trap dream.
