Fresh Buds is a new series on Daily Chiefers that takes an inside look at budding artists making waves on the internet. We focus on what’s important—the music, and less on the numbers. Read on to find out which new artists we think are bringing a fresh sound to their respective genres.

Cardboard Box

Cardbox Box

With such an obscure yet indistinct name Cardboard Box can be hard to track down online. I am not sure who he is or where he came from but his music immediately stood out after just one listen.

He is starting to make waves across the internet with his drugged out electro-rap sound in his most recent track, although he seems to be keeping a low internet presence for the time being. With less than one thousand followers at the time of this article being written I would expect big things to come from this artist in the coming months. Check out “Just Might” and get hip to the sounds of this mysterious artist now.

Bascott

BascottI swear Atlanta has one of the most diverse music scenes in the country. In each week I seem to come across a new artists with a fresh new sound that is putting on for the A. This week that artist happens to be Bascott.

He kills every track with his energetic flow over laid back production which emphasizes his crazy lyricism. Bascott brings it all on every track he puts out there isn’t a single track I listened to that I didn’t feel the energy he put into the verses. Do yourself a favor, kickback, and play through his profile. Don’t sleep on this hot new artist!

P$

P$I really dig this Southern California based artist and the fresh sound that he is working with. I think he is still finidng his sound as an artist and I enjoy seeing the progression that is made with each new track. In his latest release he comes with a raspy flow over a simple yet captivating self produced instrumental.

This is probably his best piece of work to date as he continues to grow as a creative and as an artist. I think with time he will develop his sound much further and continue to impress. With that being said, I’ve had this track on repeat for last week while driving around. Get hip check out his tracked “La Ferrari” below.

Shallo Wav

Shallo WavI came across Houston artist Shallo Wav this week and was digging the fresh sounds of his music. He has a laid back flow that is easy to listen a just vibe to. His most recent track features production that intrigued me when skimming through tracks on soundcloud.

While i personally enjoyed the mellow flow he brings on on “Changes” and “Sad Faces” he is capable of switching up the flow and coming with harder tracks. He demonstrates a range of vocal capabilities on his page however I am looking forward to hearing the new tracks he has teased on his socials.
