Before Jay Rock’s newest album Redemption hit streaming this weekend, TDE’s Punch tweeted saying how hip-hop had been soft as of late and that rappers needed to dry their eyes. This was in an effort to say that the forthcoming Rock album was to be the cure for this so called soft skinned plague shadowing over the genre and after seeing this new visual, he delivered. The album itself is filled front to back with nothing but fire as Jay Rock delivers some startling lines, opening the window ever further into the world he has found himself in time and time again. The new video for standout single “The Bloodiest” is a quick peer into some of the inner workings and tragedies that are normalized from his viewpoint and it is not something to miss out on.
