Chicago underground mainstays, Freako and KushWorthy, are back on our pages with a new summer soundtrack titled, Lean and Bacon, which demonstrates their ability to bounce back and forth with ease. The project is elevated even further with cinematic production from Luke Almighty, MachoBeatz, Dani Hax, Bruiser 3100, and BlackKenBeatz. If the title was to represent the artist duo, I’d definitely have to say Freako represents the “Lean”, with slowed out, cathartic bars that resemble being under the influence. Meanwhile, Kush is more like the Bacon- flavorful, crispy flow which adds an energetic component to balance put Freako’s contemplative aura on the tape. The only feature on Lean and Bacon is from rising Chicago based visual artist, SadKidAngel, who proves his ability on the mic with the closing hit, “Cutthroat”. Overall, this project feels balanced and is short enough to keep on replay this summer while you’re cooling with the gang. Hit play below and let us know what you think in the comments!
