It’s The House biiiitch! Chattanooga mainstay and frequent Isaiah Rashad collaborator Michael Da Vinci has let loose two new singles in the past week and it looks like he’s gearing up to keep it coming.
The two new joints, “Murda” and “Groove”, are both radiant yet repressed masters that really contain a sense of depth. Think if a vinyl met a puddle, or a bright light hit a dusty desk. Both tracks are produced by Burnie Amsterdam, who’s name is ever expanding as he continues to encapsulate more and more impressive sounds and mixes. “Groove”, assisted by the soulful and airy-voiced Celia Inside is a smooth and soulful collaboration that effortlessly bounces between the mellow delivery of Celia and the bite of Da Vinci’s bars. It’s safe to say he’s more than snapping as he maneuvers through vicegriping bar after bar. It’s a snapshot into something more, to say the least.
The other of the two new singles, “Murda”, is yet another bouncing flow courtesy of the true Chattanooga southern bounce. “I’m tryna Murda you nigga” has probably never come across more nonchalant, yet impactful. Both of these new outings are dope in their own right, and its only even more exciting for what’s to come as Da Vinci has released both in what is the beginning of a new weekly drop cycle “Mikey Mondays.” For real, if you’re a fan of quality music give these a spin!
