Swerzie has always been one to deliver some menacing flows over sinister production and he is putting that out on full display in his new EP, ROTTENBOY. The Chattanooga native has been honing his sound for some time now but I’m not sure I’ve ever heard it in a more pure form than on this new 5-track project. From the intro we are blessed with a classic Swerzie and Downtime collab as the bass comes in knocking and Swerzie gets to shredding with some catchy and memorable bars. As you navigate through each of these tracks you’ll find yourself getting a stronger and stronger sense of just how distinct this man’s sound is and how refined he’s really got it; it’s a science that never lacks innovation. Some notable contributions from Zotiyac and Apollo The Gemini only add depth to this already impressive outing. Do yourself a favor and spin ROTTENBOY.
