I feel you Kelechi, I ain’t shit either if we’re being honest. It seems like I have an endless number of reasons as to why I am not ready for a relationship whenever that conversation comes up. The Atlanta native dives into the subject of not being ready for commitment on this track with a very unique flow over a laid back beat that matches the topic in discussion. “I broke my own heart because I’m stupid,” yes, exactly. Same, multiple times. Kelechi hits the nail on the head for many of us (I think, maybe I just really ain’t shit) when he speaks about wanting affection without wanting a relationship. Am I wrong for being selfish at 25? I genuinely don’t even have time for it right now. I have friends getting married and starting families, am I just making excuses? Anyways, This song is off of his project, Spring BreakUp, and is constructed in a multi-dimensional way with the perspective of Kelechi in the first verse and of a female in the second verse. The video itself showcases an unlikely connection that stems from an extremely honest exchange. Overall, Kelechi connected on this well-rounded release and we’re definitely looking forward to what he has planned for 2019.
