In Hip-Hop, co-signs are just as valuable as money. To some, it might be worth even more. Despite this, I’ve always had an affinity for artists who could build a buzz on their own, even with the ever allusive co-sign always waiting in the wings. Pomona to Las Vegas rapper, BBKnight is one of those artists, but on his new record, “Dolce”, he uses his Juice WRLD feature completely to his advantage.
Set to the tone of lively production that makes you feel as if you’re in a warped version of a Disney Trap record, “Dolce” is an easy-on-the-ears, highly enjoyable record that encourages a replay or two with its’ infectiousness. With Juice WRLD kicking things off with a stout feature and chorus that set the table perfectly, BBKnight then comes in with a genius clean up. Playing completely to his vocal strengths, the rising rapper croons about lost love, new whips and redemption in it’s absolute most flyest state throughout his verse, showcasing an ability to hold his own even amongst the stars.
