Straight from the 216, Bat Boy Bankie, taps in with the young visionary Liam Walsh to provide the video for “Ranch Dressing.” Bankie has gone by a variety of monikers throughout his career from Bankie iZ to Josh White, to name a few. But regardless of whatever he decides to call himself, the music always sticks to our memory.
I hear hints of Pimp C sprinkled into his alluring modern take on rap music, but his flows are diverse with every take. To play with the voice, is to meld your sundry of styles atop whatever production you choose. Though, I haven’t heard Bankie reuse many cadences or waves. He’s constantly progressing and evolving just like the state he represents. The swell of Ohio talent being discovered is eminent and Bat Boy Bankie seems to be at the front of the pack.
