This EP is seven songs of wondrous bliss to not only captivate, but add to the richness of one’s auditory pallet. Boris The Lucid chooses production that reminds us of yesteryear with the metallic synths. His aerated vocals blend tremendously and take the listener away from their troubles.
“Midnight” featuring Vesta possesses the purity of a lucid experience with a lover. A calming stroll through Boris’ mind showcases how his music evokes strong emotions. “IV” is where Boris drops off his pristine vocal range and proves he can switch styles at the drop of a hat. Track in and out the consistent theme is unalloyed ambiance. These songs are meant to soothe your pain and replace the stress that’s present. Daniel Hex handled most of this incredible production, and it seems he can channel a variety of genres. Hex makes real music and understands how to entice the ear with every chord.
“Too Afraid” delivers the most brooding and uneasy production from the project, but it all smooths out once the bass drops. Boris starts things off with his baritone bars, then transforms into the impressive crooner we’ve experienced. “8” rounds things out in an exquisite light while slowing down the listener’s pulse.
