Jayy Grams came to play and after listening to his new project Every Gram Counts, you can hear a true hunger in his art. His voice doesn’t dwindle and possesses a great deal of passion off the rip. With various production from Roddie and Trox, (both rising producers who attended Dreamville‘s Revenge Sessions), in addition to TwayneTheKid, these 14 soundscapes are nothing short of top-tier.

In the first few cuts, you will feel moved by how much faith Grams has in this album. “Reap The Plate” is an introspective chance to reflect on what he’s been through. Seeing things from a bird’s eye view, Grams knows his blessings wont help everyone. Following with “Unstoppable” a resilient anthem with a stellar set of production in which Jayy thrives in the pocket.

Though his sound is not one-track-minded, “Smok’n Grams” featuring Smoke Dza gives off a solid golden-era vibe. Then it rolls into my personal favorite “Panoramic” because of it’s vivacious percussion and cohesive sound with his cadence.

Jayy is a member of the aptly titled Lofi Collective, and he gives his listeners a blend of soft instrumentation and rugged vocals. His flow are honest and the story is too, while his eyes are open to the brutal truths of the world. You can tell this music is from the heart before he even says it. On top of that, a sense of awareness and a sense of identity are two traits this guys possesses, it’s important to have those in this line of work. Overall, we’re very impressed with his young wordsmith, until the next drop acquaint yourself with Jayy below.
