Brockhampton is back, and they made a statement on the new single, “BUZZCUT.” Over the past weeks, they have been teasing the fans of their upcoming project, RoadRunnerThey were dropping snippets of some of the greatest music minds (RZA and Rick Rubintalking about them and their process. With this single and music video release, the wait is over, and I’m ecstatic.

On the record, we get a rambunctious verse from Kevin Abstract. Discussing his journey from Texas to California and the group’s growth. A notable bar for me is “A platinum record not gon’ keep my Black ass out of jail” because, in all senses, this is true, especially in light of NBA Youngboy‘s situation. Then we get an equally chaotic feature from the legend Danny Brown, helping keep the track’s momentum going.

The visual component of the record is an acid trip, to say the least. You catch Brockhampton in a weirdly discolored dystopian 90s feeling music video set. Where all of the members get distorted in CGI, giving me Adult Swim energy. My favorite part of the video is when Danny Brown turns into a monster; I’m here for it! It’s easy to say I’m excited about their upcoming project and visuals!
