Brockton’s own Van Buren Records has had their foot on the throttle for some time now. With stellar projects from Lord Felix, Saint Lyor, Jiles, Luke Bar$, Meech, and Rick Felix, they seem like they can do no wrong! Bad for Press is their first posse project, and they shut shit down with this one!
We get a combination of upbeat heavy-hitting hip-hop records like “Medic” and more subtle tracks like “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”. There is a song for everybody on this project, and it’s masterfully executed. What makes the project a standout for me is the culmination of many different voices and identities to make such a cohesive project. This is only the beginning of these guy’s fruitful careers, and I’m waiting for more!
