One of the staples of the Soundcloud rap scene since its inception are tracks that feature simple, off-the-cuff flows with some of the most dynamic production in the rap space. Polo Perks and Goner of Surf Gang‘s “Snow Patrol” is no different.
As the title would suggest, the track samples Irish alt-rock band Snow Patrol who’s track “Chasing Cars” echoes throughout the cut for an eerie, melancholy feel. The video sees Polo hitchhiking in the desert as he boasts about sipping lean and hanging out with artillery aficionados.
Despite the improbability of an alt-rock sample, promethazine, and the LA desert blending together, somehow this hodge-podge of themes, ideas, and sounds combine for a vibe unmatched by other lanes in hip-hop. Check out the video for “Snow Patrol” below!
