Amaria truly has the voice of an angel. The Tampa, Florida native has dropped her first project in the form of a 7 song Ep titled, Bittersweet. This project includes stand-out singles that Amaria had previously released such as “Roses” and “Think About It”, both accumulating over 50k streams on Spotify.
This EP entails the feelings and emotions that she has been experiencing based on a particular love interest of hers. Her singing voice is very soft and delicate, complementing the smooth instrumentation on the project. The beats had a modern funk feel with subtle yet persistent percussion and guitar chords, creating sounds of tranquility and ambiance. This project provides me with the nostalgic feeling of riding home after school with my mother in which she would play Eryka Badu and other smooth acts from the 90’s-2000’s era. I will have this entire album in rotation but “Think About It” is by far my favorite track. Amaria is figuring out her feelings with her love interest while singing over fairy-like instrumentation straight out of those mystical forests that you see in the movies.
