Intro by Fenix Flexin
Fenix Flexin is a staple of this current generation of West Coast Hip-hop. “Intro” is an example of a smooth flow over a bouncy instrumental. He creates a spectacular environment with his seldom delivery and discloses what he does in his free time. I love the straightforward bars and creativity with flows. I can’t wait to hear the rest of the project.
2gether by Mura Masa
“2gether” is a pop-house anthem that is honestly refreshing in the current state of music. Mura Masa gives us some clean vocals about longing for the one you love. It reminds me of the XXXTENTACION and Diplo record from a few years back. However, that being the case, I love the direction he’s taking his music.
The Great Hope Design by SEVDALIZA
SEVDALIZA is an enigma in the best way possible; With her experimental production and haunting vocals, I’ve been enamored. “The Great Hope Design” is an example of the evolution of music and a true expression. of raw emotion. You’re not going to hear another song like this anywhere else. If you are looking to broaden your musical horizons, definitely tap in with this record.
Talk Quiet by Ama Lou
Ama Lou is an artist I continuously get starstruck by because her voice is unique and elegant. In “Talk Quiet”, we can see she is influenced by the UK Drill movement with the production, but she brings her distinct style to it. With great R&B runs and bounce flows, it’s the perfect combination of the two styles. This is a fun record that I see myself overplaying!
Automatic by Clark D & Guycluade
Boston’s brother duo Clark D and Guycluade just dropped a stellar project, A Family Affair. This is a homey record that brings all of the smooth neo-soul influenced Hip-hop your heart desires. A stand-out track to me is “Automatic”, I love the concept of slick-talking and just the braggadocious shit. Clark D gives one of his best verses to date on the record. Also, Guycluade blessed us with one of the smoothest hooks of 2021. It’s one for the books!
Heartbreak Anniversary by Kristopher Carter
Multi-media artist Kristopher Carter makes a statement with “Heartbreak Anniversary”. This feels like an ode to penning your emotions and talking from the heart. Over crisp and classic production, he gives clean flows that feel very personable. The visual component is also fantastic, and I would urge you to check this out!
