Curren$y is a legendary emcee, and we expect the highest degree of skill on most songs. In “Under The Wings”, he displays class and elegance with sophisticated flows and descriptive metaphors. The production is slick and Houston-inspired; I could see Bun B rapping on something like this. I’m always amazed at how he dictates the record and manages never to let the production elements outshine him.
The visual content is relatively simple and primarily consists of Curren$y playing pool. The laid-back music video allows the viewer to focus clearly on the lyricism; I was hanging on to every word. This talented artist has an excellent record on his hands, and I am excited about his upcoming releases.
