Face is really a legend in this game already and it’s only the beginning of his reign. In the middle of the chaos, Ray drops a laid-back sermon undeterred by those not of his tax bracket. I think a good basis for why Michigan’s sound works so well is because of how effortless it translates to the listener. Not an abundance of complex melodies, in fact usually the less the better. While the instrumentation might disorient at the initial listen, Ray is the glue that holds these sounds together.
Then the General of the Wavy Navy guides us to shore. With Face, the album dropping this week this was a great preview of the gas to come. These visuals by Fastlife Productions translate wonderfully, so enjoy the ride below.
