Angels by Hamond
Hamond has made a vigorous wave with the new record “Angels”. Cinematic and smooth, the song makes for a movie-esq listen. I feel like I’m in an episode of Euphoria when listening to the song. The music video captures a very distinct aesthetic that compliments the song. I look forward to seeing what Hamond brings to the table in the future.
Makeup by Christian Alexander
“Makeup” has to be one of Christian Alexander’s catchiest songs to date. The song is an upbeat record that talks about hiding one’s emotions with makeup. I love the punchy drums, and the laid-back vocal takes. The record has a powerful Rex Orange County influence to it, but that doesn’t take away from how great the song is; Check it Out!
Softly by Arlo Parks
Grammy-nominated Arlo Parks is back with the eloquent single “Softly”. This is an excellent reintroduction of Arlo’s magnificent pen and songwriting skills. This song is personal and melodically dense; I love the string on the record. They give it a larger-than-life feeling! Honestly, an excellent record.
Next to Me by Jim-E-Stack (ft Lucky Daye)
Jim-E-Stack and Lucky Daye are combination I didn’t know I needed! The song is forward-pushing but, at the same time, doesn’t feel overly experimental. It has a great middle-ground, where it sounds unique but has a pop appeal. I love the synths in the production and the simple entire of the music video!
Party Sickness by Hope Tala
Hope Tala is just the biggest vibe! I love her production choices on almost all of her records, but “Party Sickness” takes it to the next level. It feels very bright and sunny, but her vocals are focused on navigating the pitfalls of going out. So the duality of the song is very prominent throughout the record! The hook is fantastic!
