Tobi Lou has been teasing his project Non-Perishable for what seems like years. But today, we finally got the project, and it’s incredible as always for this Chigoian rapper. “Hurry-up Offense” is a stand-out track for me from the project. I love the smooth flows Tobi catches in the first half of the song, and the beat switch is amazing in the latter half. The music video is surreal, and world builds Tobi’s universe!

Open A Window by Rex Orange County (ft Tyler, The Creator)

He is gearing up for his next album, Who CaresWe got “Open A Window,” a beautifully constructed song by Rex Orange CountyThe strings on the record are addicting, and the piano adds so much texture to the record. Rex gives us an excellent vocal delivery and sincere lyrics. This is complemented by a new Tyler, The Creator verse, which is fantastic. I love this song!

Killing Me by Omar Apollo

Omar Apollo has been one of my favorite musicians in the past years. So I’m excited about the release of his debut album Ivory. However, today we got the second single of the rollout, “Killing Me” and this record doesn’t disappoint. It starts with the looming synths and a smooth rhythm guitar. The drums are punchy as hell, and catch this nice groove. The signing is beautiful, especially the hook and refrain. I think this might be some of Omar’s best work yet.

Lil Bit by Kaelin Ellis

“Lil Bit” by Kaelin Ellis seems to be a mixture of lofi-glitch-hop and has some house. I found this song very addicting, and the visuals only amplify the appeal. The production is tight and clean; refreshing. The visuals show Kaelin’s personality to the fullest extent, and it’s infectious. Making you want to get up and move just like him. Check out this song and video!

Tip of the Iceberg by Chase Murphy

Chase Murphy has been growing and is nowhere close to his peak. “Tip of the Iceberg” declares that he has a long way to go in the game and is willing to put in the work. I love the smooth delivery and confidence he brings to the record. I see so much growth in this record, and I know Chase will turn heads for the rest of 2022!

Sorry by Umi

If you need some new bedroom R&B, then “Sorry” by Umi is what you need in your life. This song is elegant, and her vocals ate mesmerizing. I’m always amazed at how she cuts out all of the fat when she writes, and it feels so personal. I think this is a song you should give a spin and see where your thoughts take you.
