Still by Kenny Beats

Louie has been a full experience from Kenny Beats. The use of samples on this album is impeccable, and I’m a fan of each song on this project. However, “Still” is my go-to right now; I love the wailing harmonies and soul-sampled keys. We even get some adlibs and a few bars by the legendary JPEG MAFIA. When he’s over soulful production, he shines differently, and I have to say that this is one of the best beats I’ve heard in a long time.

24-8 by Smino

Smino is back and in rare form. We get the charismatic lyricism with some of the slickest flows. He always seems to float over any production, and his technical skill is unmatched. At times I don’t understand how he catches the pockets he does; he’s a total genius. I’m excited to see if this is the start of a rollout or if he will drop more loosies. Either way, I’m hyped to hear him back on the mic.

Siblings by Connis

I’m a little late on this track, but I needed to highlight it. “Siblings” is a beautiful record that describes any younger brother’s thoughts about their older sister. Connis is open in his lyricism, and that’s so refreshing. Not many artists can be so transparent, and he does it masterfully. The record is so sentimental; it really will tug on your heartstrings. On the backend of the record, we get a smooth beat breakdown. 10 out of 10 record!

worthless by She Loves Boon

She Loves Boon has been dropping consistently for the past months, and this all culminated in the release of Emotional TrapThis project is a unique take on hyper-pop, making for a great listening experience. “worthless” is a standout track; the smooth and sleek production is masterful. The pitched-up vocals always hit on a Boon song, and this record is no different. Check out this record as soon as possible!

Soon by Josh Gabbay

HIT, HIT, HIT! If you’re looking for the next popstar, look no further than Josh Gabbay. This guy has hits records that are being slept long. “Soon” is his most recent release, and its bonified hit song it’s a great pop record with dance elements. The songwriting is masterful and just connects in a major way with me. Y’all need to check him out before you’re too late, and he’s topping the charts!
