Jireh has been on my radar for a few months now, but this project only solidifies his spot within your attention span. With a melding of melodies, brilliant rhyme schemes and moving subject matter, A Guide 2 Recognizing Your Saints is a magnificent introduction to the world. In just nine cuts this often soft-spoken main character showcases his emotions all over the spectrum.

With features from Quadry, Tre Louis, Izaiah Bindon, Mati, and Atira Jonae, these talented creatives all added pure elements of art. Jireh steers the ship, but they wouldn’t be willing to add to the story if he wasn’t great at his job as well.

With cuts like “fbgm” to run with playful, yet calculated wordplay, but still stay in this pocket of focus is no easy feat. “Winshield” is another stellar standout because of the production’s technicolor canvas, but Jireh truly leaves his emotions on the pavement. I think that a great theme throughout this project is sheer honesty. Not a common theme in modern Rap, but that’s what makes our protagonist great. “Rap Life” ends things in a joyus manner, but really there isn’t a cut that lags behind the rest. Jireh is a name to know for 2023 and every year moving forward, get hip.
