Demont has been on the radar for a few years now, and it’s not some fluke. This man pens some of the best in R&B, but can croon through Pop and Alternative realms as well. His newest EP Chrysalis is five brilliant cuts gliding through the night sky. “All That U Want” starts with a gentle, yet powerful register of emotion. The slight distortion behind the vocals creates another pocket to delve into. Such a brilliant choice for the intro, setting the scene for the rest of the EP.
“Starburst” follows up with a mean right hook to the chest. Hypnotizing vocals from the jump encompass the sonic mood that Demont curates with ease as he takes us into another world of Pop bliss. “Nighttime” exudes lust-filled melodies and “Something” intoxicates with the smokey delivery atop gentle guitar strums. Demont rounds things out with “Company” my personal favorite of the effort because of the reflective element of looking inward instead of out. Though the precise pocket is unphased by any outside noise, Unusual Demont has delivered an honest depiction of his complicated world.
Life, love, and growth are all present on this EP. You can hear the honesty, pain, and passion melded into a cohesive package. Don’t sleep on Demont, he’s always worth the listen.
