Macauley – Lie
“Lie” by Macauley is a wondrous alternative bop that will leave you addicted after the first listen. Her tonality and songwriting exude the fact she’s got a real star quality. The chorus oozes electricity and entices us to peep the whole wave. She delivers a moving message though beneath it all. The toxicity of dealing with lies all the time will change a person and what they deal with. But for now, Macauley is okay with that.
FoxxDye – inmyhead
FoxxDye is back on our pages with their technicolor brilliance. These lucid tones and run-of vocals alongside the stellar instrumentation only make us feel this song that much more. True emotion is evoked because they are leaving it all on the line each and every time. This is a different wave from “between the lines” but showcases they’re here to stay. This is one of those groups to watch because it will be a stellar year of growth and expansion with songs like this dropping. And if you’re not hip to FoxxDye yet, it’s time to change that.
Maggie Sims – Anti Love Anthem
Another cut about heartbreak just in time for your V-Day pain. Maggie Sims makes her first appearance on our pages with a powerful ballad called “Anti Love Anthem”. Melding the genres of Pop and Rock, Sims gifts the world an incredibly honest gaze into her world. You can hear the real pain and almost disgust that anyone would do her wrong but it shouldn’t be a surprise that her hurt turned into a masterful music moment. This is real, and authentic and allows the public to truly feel what she’s feeling. Maggie is onto something, don’t sleep.
Jay Cinema – Alchemy
This was sent to me by a trusted ear and from start to finish Jay Cinema truly made something special. This effort was titled Alchemy and it feels like there is true cohesion in between all of these cuts. A bold move for up-and-coming artists to give the world 18 songs, but when they have been crafted like this, you shouldn’t worry at all. Consistently confident cadences, stellar beat selection, and wordplay that will astound you take this one over the top. Chow is the man behind the brilliance of the percussive elements. His chops, layering and vision for an artist like Cinema is the reasons why this project flows so well. A few cuts to delve into include, “How Do I”, “Protection” and “What A Day”. Jay Cinema has the talent to break through, but it seems like he’s enjoying the process of building his path on his own time. But don’t take our word for it, peep all of the gas above.
