Ahmad has been on our pages countless times now, but it seems as if we’re at an apex in his story with this new project. Titled Mnt. Snug, we are shown sides of Ahmad and his talents that we’ve seen through a combination of drops over the years. Though what this opus shows us is how refined his styling is at this point, and we’re right here before the breakthrough. In just 13 cuts, Anonimis stuns with witt, cohesion and true talent shining from start to finish.
The features on here are serious as well, with guest appearances from Kenny Mason, 8ROB, Powers Pleasant, Trilly!, Kalenbree, Flow Clark and Lokii AD, each addition of talents only accents what Ahmad brings to the table. Whether these names are crafting an instrumental canvas or assist with the story telling, we have truly been gifted one of the best projects so far this year. Of course the cut with Kenny is a standout, but it’s songs like “Grove”, “Bed Bugs” and “Sleep Walking” that shine in my opinion.
Overall you have to applaud someone like Ahmad for not only paving his own unique lane in this game, but possessing true identity when it comes to crafting his art. The sound is genuine, well crafted, and gives hope for a different type of wave in modern music. Do yourself a favor and peep the abundance of gas below.
