After dropping an impressive debut mixtape earlier this year, news broke out early this morning that Capital Steez of Pro Era has passed away. While details are still sketchy right now, Capital Steez sent out a mysterious tweet last night saying “The end”. Joey Bada$$ took to Twitter this morning and sent out a couple tweets himself:
This unfortunate xmas eve.. Lost a best friend, a brother, a pro, a partner. Letting go is never easy.. May ur soul rest in peace Jamal.. RIP CAPITAL STEEZ!!! 7.7.93 – 12.24.12. SICK TO MY STOMACH… it just haven’t been the same since my homies death…. MOST PRAISE TO THE MOST HIIGHHHHHHHHHHHH. part of me still doesn’t believe this.
Though the cause of death isn’t confirmed yet, many have suggested it could have been a suicide. This shocking news only comes three days after the release of Pro Era’s new tape. Our condolences go out to Capital Steez’s fam and the rest of the Pro Era.
