Today Mello Music Group announced that they have signed North Carolina-based producer L’Orange to a 3 album production deal over the next two years. The progressing record label had this to say about the partnership, “slated to create a combination of projects from instrumental, to jazz singers, to alternative edged collaborations with emcees, L’Orange is looking to bring his distinct sound to Mello’s audience, while continuing to push the boundaries of his musical explorations.” Luckily we don’t have to wait very long to get the first taste of L’Orange’s work with MMG. On “The Lost Nova” he enlists Mr. Life and John Robinson to spit over his signature control over jazz rhythm. The standalone track for the label’s latest compilation Mandala Vol. 1 Polysonic Flows is a promising sign of things to come for both L’Orange and the prospering East Coast conglomerate.
