Well, unless you have been hiding under a rock for a year ScHoolboy Q finally dropped his major label debut album, Oxymoron. One the other side of the spectrum, — well, at least for hip-hop’s sake — Kid Cudi released his highly anticipated album Satellite Flight. Satellite Flight was recently transformed to an album after being set to release as an EP, and with little to no promotion, was able to sell a ton of units.

After over a year of hype (and mystery), ScHoolboy Q finally released his project Oxymoron this past week. Without one radio single Q was able to post an astounding numbers, which is on pace to debut at the number one spot on the Billboard charts next week with 150,000 – 160,000 copies sold. Guess you could say the hype & wait was well worth it.

Kid Cudi, on the other hand surprised the industry with his album Satellite Flight, which seemed to come out of no where. What had started as an EP, has now ended up with 90k + units sold in the first week with little to no marketing.

All in all, it was a good week for both artists’.
