Although Chance is quite the youngin’ when it comes to the music industry, he continues to build up impressive accolades, of which are usually not attained by “rappers.” Over the weekend, Chance was honored by the city of Chicago, receiving the “Outstanding Youth of the Year” award by Mayor Rahm Emanuel. Through his #SaveChicago initiative and talking about the Chi-Town violence, Chano has done a lot for Chicago in the short two years that he has seen his success rise.
Chance went to his Twitter handle to talk about the event, stating that this was the most important award he will ever receive. Chance was presented with a plaque for the award, which reads, “For your outstanding contributions to the youth of Illinois. You have given of yourself to the upward mobility of young people throughout the state of Illinois.”
