Another product of Bellingham, Washington, Manatee Commune blends hip hop, chillstep, electronic, and dreamstep together to create some of the most casually energetic sounds out there. His remix of a Kooks cover of Susy Sun’s “Bad Habit” maintains a dreamy, laid back vibe while also holding onto some of the more upbeat elements typical of electronic and chillstep. The production is reminiscent of Jonwayne and JMSN, but definitely lies in a class of its own. “Bad Habits” is part of a free three-track remix disc that also features remixed versions of Odesza’s “Say My Name” and Kairos’ “Cold Habits”, and is available on Manatee Commune’s Bandcamp.
