Today we here at DC get to premiere the newest project from Chicago by way of Maryland emcee Echalty. It’s entitled Contemplation, and is the newest effort from Echalty.
Ruminations on life, the past, the future, and the death of innocence. “Contemplation” is just that, Echalty’s honest contemplation of life around him – both his own and the people that surround. There is an acceptance of decisions that have been made thus far, but not without questioning their impact.
We all have to travel in the confusing void that inhabits the area after childhood and adolescence, but before true adulthood. To ease Echalty’s own journey, there are visions of money, women, and fame – and the oft-plentiful company of drugs – but the matter of if these are the answers, or not, is the true Contemplation at hand.
With features from G Boog, Moon, Ju, Lucki Eck$, and J.K. the Reaper – along with beats crafted by the likes of Big Los and Savon – Contemplation will at times coast in sinister motions like a barred-out vulture, but screech like an old, decrepit Dreamcast that’s long-since refused to die. And if you listen closely, you may find yourself looking within as well.
