Yup, you heard that right. Nelly. Making a Country album.
After rumors started swirling last year, it looks like Nelly is officially planning to release his new country-based EP. Speaking with Billboard, his new manager J. Erving had this to say about the situation:
“He’s a free agent on the label side now, and is working on a country-based ‘Heartland’ EP, which should be really interesting. He may be one of the first hip-hop artists to jump into that space in an authentic way with Florida Georgia Line and Tim McGraw, so we think he has an opportunity to grow that base even more.”
After much success for his “Over & Over” collaboration with Tim McGraw and Florida Georgia Line’s “Cruise,” it may be about that time for a Country-infused Nelly album. I’m kidding…
