On March 30th, 2015, the rap group we all know as De La Soul launched a Kickstarter to fund the creation of their eighth studio album with a target of $110,000. Today, May 2nd, the Kickstarter closed the fund, reaching an insane amount — $600,875, also making it the second most funded music project on the platform.
Their forthcoming album will feature a select amount: Damon Albarn, David Byrne, 2 Chainz, and Little Dragon, with De La Soul having this to say:
