I’ve been a fan of Oddisee ever since Chiefer Adam showed me him almost two years ago, and it’s been a wrap ever since. Most recently, the multi-faceted DMV native sat down with RespectDue. While there, Oddisee discussed the inspiration behind the album, his Sudanese background, his working relationship with J. Cole, and much more.
Oddisee also revealed that he has a bunch of tracks recorded w/ J. Cole – including one that features the great Kendrick Lamar.
“I did like six, seven songs with J. Cole, total. I know we did three or four [original cuts], then he did some stuff with Rock Creek beats. But he has played me two of the tracks. One of them I have, the other one he played me has was to another beat I made – it featured Kendrick on it. So there is a track produced by me, featuring J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar. Will it ever see the light of day? I have no idea.”
