Today is a huge day for the music industry as a whole. As it was reported initially, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) was considering a shift in which day would be the release day — and it’s starting on July 10th.

Countries like the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany and Australia will all be releasing their respective albums on Friday to help drive sales and combat piracy. This is a major move for record distribution and the music industry as a whole, starting the whole ordeal on July 10th.

Some Asian countries are not yet on board with the unified initiative, but up to 45 countries will participate as of July 10th. Wanna know more? Peep the website ya bish.
