TL:DL (Too long, didn’t listen) … Basically that video released today was his private opinions made public without his knowledge & he felt disrespected by it. (There’s no diss to/he isn’t mad at Lupe) he just doesn’t want to make a spectacle out of this situation. It was just some “barbershop/around the way with the crew talk” that got put on the internet without his permission even though he was asked if it could be shared and he said no. He’s not interested in participating in any type of “Mandingo” tournament in rap. Rap has never been about competition to him, it’s about being free enough to create what he finds beautiful. Yasiin also recommends everyone read the recent Pitchfork article “Op-Ed: I’m Breaking Up With Drake” by Meaghan Garvey as it relates to what is almost like a circus going on in Hip-Hop right now..
